Places you'd rather be Empty Places you'd rather be

Post by Grenade001 Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:26 pm

Is there any place that you have been or want to go to if you had the money saved up in your bank account? For me, I would want to go to as many different places as possible, experience as many different places/things as possible, but that might be a result of my youth.

If I had to narrow it down to a few places, in no particular order

1. Nice, France
2. Saint Petersburg, Russia
3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
4. Fjords of Norway (Geirangerfjord, Sognefjord and also the Hardangervidda Region)
5. Sydney, Australia (and surrounds)
6. London, England (and surrounds)
7. Yorke Peninsula, Australia (lots of small towns, good for fishing and sailing)

Look forward to hearing of your choices!

Right now, any sunny place in the southern hemisphere, I'm not picky. It is DARK up here in the pacific northwest.

Places I'd like to visit but haven't:

New Zealand
Japan- Kyoto
Rio Di Janiero

I'd be curious why you named the list you did. Alternatively, places you've been and recommend.

I have been to 20 countries (Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, England, France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Latvia, Hong Kong) and the below list is based on the places that I have been to, the ones I would DEFINITELY want to go see again. Apart from Berlin, there aren't too many places which I found to be too bad. They were all interesting in their own way.

1. Nice, France
2. St Petersburg, Russia
3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
4. Fjords of Norway - Geirangerfjord, Sognefjord and also the Hardangervidda region
5. Sydney, Australia (and surrounds)
6. London, England (and surrounds)
7. Yorke Peninsula, Australia (lots of small towns, good for fishing and sailing) [1] [2]

If I had to add places that I haven't been to yet. I would add China, Canada (Hopefully planning a trip there this year), Indochina, Great Britain and Ireland, United States, Siberia and Central Asia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and South America

Look forward to hearing of your choices!

Rio de Janeiro ... it's summer in Rio ... and Carnaval is in a few weeks. Ash Wednesday is March 5.   sunny

I could definitely go for that. farao

I just want to live in a small town somewhere. I just want to get away from everything.

Rexbolt, I will see you and raise you one on "get away from everything" ... you might remember the sailboat photos I've posted.

If I was inside a self sustained floating bubble I would want to see;

Africa
Antartica
Amazon Jungle
Ireland
Death Valley
Sahara Desert
Dark Side of the Moon, I just know there is some eerie shit going on up there
The Marianas Trench, there's gotta be some good treasure and spooky huge fish in there
fly over a few volcanoes
The South Pole
The inside of Fort Knox

There's more but that's all I can think of for now.

Speaking just for today, I'd rather be somewhere warm. We got 15" (38 cm) of snow yesterday, and I spent the morning clearing off the cars and cleaning up my parking spaces.

I'd like to get a neighbor to take a picture of me in a Hawaiian shirt and swim trunks, posing with my snow shovel on top of the head-high mound of snow I cleared - then make a meme of it and send it to Al Gore: "Global warming? Ya sure about that?"

Ah, well, three weeks and I'll be somewhere warm. Ten days in de Islands, mon.  afro

I have a curiosity to visit Zihuatanejo because it's where Andy Dufresne retired to in Shawshank Redemption but that's the only reason.

These are the places that I wouldn't hesitate to move to;

1. Kyoto, Japan (right on Jagr)
2. Melbourne, Australia
3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (that photo is awesome Grenade)
4. Washington State, USA (not because of the new weed law lol)
5. London, England

Of the five, I haven't been to Washington. I should put that as priority one.
